How we operate

Our HistoryService is Our History

Echoes Started in 1872 as "The Missionary Echo." It was a means for reporting on front-line mission across the world. In 1885 it changed to 'Echoes of Service' and began the publication of the Echoes Magazine which has been produced every month since then.

Over the years Echoes has supported over 6,000 mission workers from the UK who have worked in over 100 countries. Today our office is located in the city of Bath, about 100 miles west of London. Our purpose remains the same, to serve missionaries around the world, and those commended from Christian Brethren assemblies/churches in particular. We follow the principle of living by faith, and have proved God's faithfulness over 130 years of operation.

Our OperationSpecifics of Operation

At Echoes our aim is to partner with local churches as we believe the local church has the key role to play in sending, commending and supporting called and effectively prepared workers into God's service.

We also partner globally with cross-cultural mission workers. While we do not direct or control workers, we emphasise that freedom always operates within boundaries and encourage mutual accountability. We collaborate with other linked agencies across the UK and overseas and cooperate in the use of funds for disaster relief and in the support of indigenous workers.

Echoes does not appeal for funds, and lies within the 'faith mission' method of operation. All gifts received are distributed in full and no administration fees are taken from gifts unless specifically allocated.
